Red Bull 3x3 Reign Team Phenom will compete at World Finals in Washington DC

Last Saturday June 30, 2018, I witnessed the hard court Ballers 3x3 action at Taft Food by the Court in Pasay City. After several hours only 1 team will succeed among 16 Team participants which are LGU, Pacita, Souldier, Kervy, LA, Team Kate, Better Basketball Ph, VVEstrada, Sy Men, HumKins, Phenom, King of Hoops, Evogen, Tough Gear C, Tough Gear A and 7 Eleven.

So team Phenom which composed of John Jordan Sta Ana, Jarrold Flores, John Rom Alvarado and Carl Sumalacay secured the slot for Team Philippines. And they will compete in the upcoming Red Bull 3x3 Reign World Finals in Washington, DC USA. 

Got a chance to do a little chitchat with the winners and their coach after their victory. Coach told me that they have more than 25 on team rooster playing in different amateur and pro league sport like this. Said that they did their best among taller competitors on Finals. 

They have great defense and inside offense. If there's an MVP I will bet for Sta Ana. But there's none when I've asked the host Vince Hizon. I saw tall and short players young and old (20's and late 30's). I think 3 on 3 is for the majority. And strategy among 3 players is the best key to win.

The program went cool when some DJ and Host did the rap. And did break dance like the usual NBA all star weekend type. And of course the Slam dunk competition won by David Carlos which is now called as the Jordan Kilganon of the Philippines.

Although he didn't play in the PBA league same with Kilganon as NBA counterpart. But they performed the best ever perfect 10 dunks compared to those Goat PBA/NBA players. I asked him what is the special training as a 5'9" to performed those high flying powerful slam? 

Is it the extra weights on knee or waistline? Not really, He just said constant practice in dunking. As a pro Dunker his been to several competitions-exhibition here and abroad.   

I've been to several red bull local and foreign events. And I can say that they have the best sporting event in the planet. Best world champions athletes endorsements and Motorsport commercial. From f1, air race, party to extreme high octane adrenaline multi sport adventure.
